寨主解：jinx 可當名詞和動詞，指「不祥的事物」或「使之不祥」，因此 jinx it 就是烏鴉嘴之意。在台灣，烏鴉嘴後大家會說「呸呸呸」來去除楣氣，美國人則是「knock on the wood」，指在木頭或木板上敲三下以去除楣氣。有時說些比較不吉利的話之前或是不希望烏鴉嘴時也會說或是做 knock on the wood 的動作。例如：The Cubs have been doing well this year. (knock on the wood) I hope they keep it up! 芝加哥小熊隊今年的表現目前為止都不錯。(敲敲) 希望他們繼續保持下去！(怕一語成懺，但現在看來早就無望了... /__\ )
