甲：這幾天我一直接到電話行銷公司跟詐騙集團的電話。
乙：是嗎？你有加入「『勿-摳-我』消費者名單」嗎？
甲：有啊，但那些詐騙集團總是有辦法！
乙：那我跟你說吧，把室內電話線拔掉、手機關掉，這樣就一勞永逸囉。
甲：(心想) 我女朋友找不到我應該會把我殺了吧。
once and for all = 一勞永逸
con artists = 詐騙集團
寨主解：once and for all 字面上意思非常淺顯易懂，就是一勞永逸。National Do-Not-Call List (https://www.donotcall.gov/) 是美國 2007 年通過、2008 年正式實施的一個方案，所有登記在這個名單上的電話，按規定電話行銷公司 (telemarketer) 都不能為了推銷產品而撥打。寨主曾經接過不少電話詢問「Do you speak Chinese?」結果對方是要賣我中文影視DVD產品。無奈的是他們撥打的是 business phone number，只有住宅電話可以登記 Do-Not-Call List，我也沒輒，後來接到的時候都說 "no, yo no habla Ingles" (No, I don't speak English.)，對方馬上會知趣掛掉。
寨主解二：con artist 是指用巧詐的手法行騙之人 (見 http://money.howstuffworks.com/con-artist.htm )，例如趁店家忙碌時用快速換錢手法將收銀員耍得團團轉，或是用國內外轉帳方式騙取受害民眾的金錢。
寨主解三：shut off 是 turn off 的口語。凡是有開關的便可以用。例如：shut off the computer; shut the light off; shut the TV off. 寨主有時口急也會常常搞錯，門、窗、櫃、箱等等「打開」動作才用 open 和 close。
